Why God of Gamblers is All-Time Favorite Movie
I have watched this Hong Kong film twice already and I am proud to say that this is my all-time favorite foreign film. I am impressed on how the film was presented by Wong Jing, the most prolific director in Hong Kong and by the performance of the protagonist, Chow Yun-Fat who played Ko Chun, a very lucky gambler and was renowned because he never loses and taught to have ability that he can read cards. This is a gambling movie with a mixture of violence, comedy and a twisted plot. For me, I like how Chow portrays different state of mind of character and represented it beautifully. Much of the film is comedic but still shows some fighting scenes and hostility, which is evident on most of the film of Wong.
